We've seen the premiere of The Sinking City, the adventure horror game from Frogwares. The game has already made its debut on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in a few hours it will appear on PCs. The PC release for the first year will be available only on Epic Games Store.

It is worth mentioning that Frogwares recently announced that The Sinking City will also be available on the Nintendo Switch console. We don't know the exact date of the release of the port yet. The devs have limited themselves to stating that it will be published at the end of this year.

The game met with quite a mixed reception. The PC version has an average score of 72% on Metacritic, which is typical for a production o Frogwares. Console releases are rated worse, with only 64% for the PlayStation 4 releases and 63% on Xbox One.

The game is generally praised for its typical adventure elements, including interesting investigations and logic challenges. The atmosphere and storyline also receive good reviews. However, the arcade elements are criticized, especially the poor combat mechanics. In addition, reviewers complain about disappointing graphics and a world made up of many repetitive assets.

Until now, Frogwares has focused on classic adventure games, so it's no wonder that the elements of this genre are the strong points of The Sinking City. It is not surprising that the creators did not manage to cope with the new aspects of the open world and the arcade sequences.
