Battlefield 2042 Open Beta Launch Time; Preload Begins

We found out the exact start time of Battlefield 2042's open beta tests. The open beta will launch on October 8, but EA Play subscribers and users who bought preorders will be able to play as early as tomorrow.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. The open beta will start on October 8 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM BST;
  2. Users who bought preorders or have the EA Play subscription will start the game two days earlier;
  3. Preload has already started;
  4. Tests will end on October 9.

DICE announced the exact release date for the open beta of Battlefield 2042. Open beta starts on October 8 at 2 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM BST. Users who bought preorders or have the EA Play subscription will start the game two days earlier, on October 6.

The testing will end on October 9, so you won't have much time to check out the game. On PC, the open beta will require 100GB of free disk space, so it's worth using the already available preload option, enabling you to download some of the necessary files beforehand.

It's worth mentioning that the official website and in the description of the trailer above an incorrect date was given for the start of open tests for people without preorders. The correct date, October 8, was included in the video itself and in the official FAQ.

The open beta will be available on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Testing of the PC version will take place on Steam, Epic Games Store and Origin. On Sony's consoles, no PlayStation Plus subscription will be required to play. Unfortunately, on XONE and XSX/S only those with Xbox Live Gold will be able to check out the game.

Open beta will enable us to test the conquest mode on the Orbital map. The progress made during the tests will not be transferred to the full version.

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for launch on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, on November 19, 2021.
