Battlefield 7 leaks after tests. Gameplay materials reveal strong BF3 and BF4 inspirations, exciting players
The first footage of Battlefield 7's closed tests has leaked.

The first materials for Battlefield 7, the forthcoming entry in the iconic shooter series from EA DICE, have surfaced online. The gameplay and screenshots come from closed tests conducted as part of "Battlefield Labs," which started on Friday. Despite strict confidentiality rules, the footage quickly ended up on platforms such as Reddit. They can be watched in many threads created on that platform.
UI and damage system
On the shared materials, you can see both the infantry's combat and the heavy combat equipment in action. Players on Reddit paid particular attention to the respawn screen, which reminds them of a "modernized version" of the one from BF 4. The mechanics of destruction are compared to those known from Battlefield 3, suggesting EA DICE's return to a more realistic approach to environmental damage.
New movement mechanics and changes in vehicles
Judging by the shared materials and new information, Battlefield 7 will introduce several new elements related to character movement:
- sprint in a crouching position;
- combat diving;
- roll during landing.
Players also drew attention to the ammunition system in heavy vehicles, which will force them to think about their resources and find the right place and time to reload. "F*CK YEAH, I hope we're going back to designing vehicles straight out of BF 5," wrote one of the players. The general reception of "leaks" by Reddit users is quite enthusiastic.
A few words from DICE
For today's tests, EA DICE also released an article highlighting that in Battlefield 7, the main focus is on balancing intuitive controls for new players with dynamic combat and a variety of new options for series veterans. Judging by the studio materials, the key changes include:
- new weapon recoil system;
- reduction of the delay between pressing the trigger and the appearance of the bullet on the screen, which should improve the responsiveness of shooting and make it easier to hit moving targets;
- optimization of servers (tick rate at 60 Hz), which will increase the precision of shots and the representation of player positions;
- improvements in animations, including visual indicators showing when interactions such as jumping over an obstacle or leaning out are possible.
Friday's tests, however, were devoted to checking the preliminary balance of gameplay, the dynamics and pace of battles, the realism of new movement mechanics, and various interactions on the map.
Launch before April 2026
"Battlefield Labs" is a new testing platform by EA, allowing players to try out a new game and provide feedback to the devs. It's also worth noting that Electronic Arts plans to release Battlefield 7 before April 1, 2026.
At the moment, the first leaks suggest that the new BF will offer many changes compared to previous installments. It's undeniable that releasing some official materials now would be a smart move for the developers... Especially since EA DICE has promised that a summary of Friday's tests will be provided soon.
