The Sims 4 went free-to-play! Base game can now be downloaded for free, while add-ons still come with their price tags. However, there are completely genuine ways to improve the game and expand its content without spending a dime. You can do it with mods.
MC Command Center is a multifunction tool that allows you to easily change any aspect of the game. The project unlocks a multitude of commands, ranging from simple cheats, through defining relationships between sims, to editing the appearances and names at any time.

WonderfulWhims is one of the most important mods for this game – it extends and diversifies the relationships between sims. With this mod, each character has their own style and preferences. This is also grounds for generating events in the game.
The project also expands the personality mechanics, adding archetypes and new special interactions, and allows fake personalities to confuse other characters.
The mod introduces a realistic death system, along with everything that death entails. The sims die just like in real life, rather than at the hand of the Reaper. Deaths are confirmed by a doctor, and then you need to organize a funeral.
It also introduces funeral homes with tons of new content and options. Sims can be buried or cremated. There are also many new objects, e.g. cemetery decorations, customizable tombstones, or urns.

Private Practice thoroughly overhauls and expands the health mechanics. It introduces health insurance, pharmaceuticals, opticians and plastic surgeons.

The mod also increases the frequency of various interactions between characters (such as teasing unpopular people or having a snowball fight) and greatly expands the romancing mechanisms, thanks to which the sims have to work a lot before winning the hearts of other heroes. Instead of a simple kiss, sims require compliments, gifts, and flirting.

A popular category of mods are those adding new personality traits to sims. The best of them are:
Another popular category of mods are those that introduce additional types of interaction for sims. If that sounds interesting to you, we recommend the following:

Finally, a mention of Explore Mode. The project allows you to send sims to various places. They can go on holidays, coaching delegations and camps (e.g. in photography or guitar) or to a casino.
