BloodRayne 1 and 2: Terminal Cut Launch Today

BloodRayne: Terminal Cut and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut will debut this afternoon. Refreshed versions of both installments will be available for free for those who own the originals on Steam or GOG.com.

Today marks the launches of BloodRayne: Terminal Cut and BloodRayne 2: Terminal Cut, the remastered editions of two action games from Terminal Reality. The game will be released exclusively on PC and will be unlocked on Steam and GOG.com today around 4 PM CET.

The praiseworthy thing is those who have previous versions of these games on Steam or GOG.com, namely BloodRayne and BloodRayne 2, will receive the improved releases for free.

Both games are standard remasters. The main change compared to the originals is therefore the graphics. Terminal Cut versions support 4K resolution and offer improved textures and edge smoothing; additionally, light effects, shadows and reflections are introduced.

Elements such as water and fog also look nicer. In addition, all cut-scenes have been beautified and support for modern controllers has been added using the XInput API.

Terminal Reality, the studio responsible for the BloodRayne series, was closed in 2013. Terminal Cut versions were created by Ziggurat, a company that specializes in reeditions and remasters of old games. However, many original developers took part in refreshing of the games.
