Call of Duty: Vanguard Disappoints; Sells Worse Than CoD: Black Ops - Cold War

Activision Blizzard has admitted that Call of Duty: Vanguard was a commericial disappointment when compared to CoD: Black Ops - Cold War. The mobile installment of the brand, however, is doing great.

It had been rumored for some time that Call of Duty: Vanguard was a flop. Now it has finally been officially admitted by Activision Blizzard, the game's publisher.

Call of Duty: Vanguard blamed for Activision Blizzard's disappointing results

This information was found in the company's new financial report. In the past year, the publisher's revenue was $8.8 billion. This was the highest result in history, but below forecasts.

Weaker than expected results were recorded in the last quarter of 2021 and Activision Blizzard blamed it on Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Last year's installment of the series is selling noticeably worse than Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War in the same time period. Unfortunately, no specific numbers were given.

Of course, this does not mean that CoD: Vanguard sells badly. The game was the biggest bestseller of the year on the American market. It can be called a disappointment only when its results are compared with the achievements of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War.
