At the end of July, Google accidentally published documentation related to ChatGPT-5. The file was available for so long that the indexing bot managed to save the title and meta description of the address where the documentation was available. Internet users began to speculate when ChatGPT-5 will be published and what it means for current users.

ChatGPT-5 is coming

The post published on the subreddit r/ChatGPT got a big response. The author is basically saying that just the documentation path ("/docs/guides/gpt/") should indicate that it's not a scam, although some internet users doubt this argument. The information presented by Letskeeprollin appears to be more interesting.

Well, as they reported, a similar situation has already occurred in the past, and not just once. Two days before the release of ChatGPT-4.5 and ChatGPT-4o, Google also published the relevant documentation online. The first information about ChatGPT-5 appeared on July 31st at 03:43 pm PT and disappeared at 00:05 am PT. Letskeeprollin sees more hints suggesting the imminent launch of ChatGPT-5.

One of them was a podcast with Sam Altman, in which the CEO of OpenAI talked about the new chatbot model. Furthermore, in August, new European Union regulations concerning artificial intelligence regulation are set to come into effect. ChatGPT-5 may therefore appear on the market before the EU code begins to apply. The new version of the chatbot will probably be released on August 5th or 6th.

From the AI users, apart from excitement, there are also concerns. It is unknown whether ChatGPT-5 will be another model to choose from, or if it will replace all previous ones. If we went with the first option, it would be a problem for new users because there are already so many models that it's hard to figure out which one is the most optimal for our work. On the other hand, if ChatGPT-5 replaces existing models, it could disrupt already existing projects.
