Company of Heroes 3 is a new instalment in the series. Fans have been waiting for it for many years. This game can be challenging, so we encourage you to read our guide. We present some tricks and tips for both – single player and multiplayer.

Tips and Tricks for the Italian Campaign in Company of Heroes 3

  1. Build new companies ASAP – each company makes your military potential bigger. They can conquer new cities and defeat enemies. It is important to have as many of them, as you can.
  2. Your companies gain experience – after battles your armies earn experience. If you gain enough, you can buy new abilities for units.
  3. Armies cannot stay for too long on the hostile territory – each unit has supplies. They determine how far you can go and how successful your armies are in auto-resolve battles. What is more, if provisions run out, your units will take damage.
  4. There are “synergies” between companies – there are a few types of units. You can recruit various vehicles, infantry, ships and planes. If they are near each other, you can use their special abilities in RTS battles.
  5. Units can influence strategic map – companies not only affect real-time battles, they can also interact with the strategic map. For example ships can shell the shore, destroying ground targets or weakening enemy units and aircrafts can serve as reconnaissance.
  6. Partisans can help – after you complete the first side quest for partisans, you will be able to hire their help. They can scout the terrain or gather resources.

  1. Conquer strategic points (ASAP) – they give you necessary resources. It is the only way to win with your opponent.
  2. Retreat – when your unit is low on health use Retreat button. It is better than losing the squad.
  3. Units gain experience – remember that your soldiers are getting experience, which makes them stronger and more useful, don’t lose them.
  4. Use special abilities – every squad has some kind of special ability. Grenades are especially very useful. They can be used against infantry and vehicles.
  5. Thickness of armour is different in various places – remember that the armour is the thickest on the front. Use reverse option to move and face the enemy.
  6. Use company’s abilities – if you spend command points, you can use battlegroups. They can give you large boost – new units, abilities and various support. Proper use of them can change battle’s outcome.
  7. Engineers are very important – they can repair your vehicles quickly. What is more, if you equip them with flamethrowers, they are very effective against infantry.
  8. Flank the enemy – frontal attack is not the best idea in most cases. It is the quickest way to loose your troops. Try to outmanoeuvre your opponent.
  9. Use tactical pause in campaign – there is a possibility to pause the game in single player mode. Use it often, especially, if you start your adventure with the series.
  10. Use covers – standing in the open 90% of the time is not the best idea.
