Company of Heroes 3 - List of Units; Learn All About Them

In this article, we introduce all units in CoH 3. Find out which soldiers serve in the US Forces, Wehrmacht, Afrikakorps and British Forces.

Company of Heroes 3 is a real-time strategy game. The gameplay focuses on tactical skirmishes set in the realities of World War II. The title will be released on 23 February 2023. However, we already know quite a lot about the production thanks to playtests. That's why, in this guide, we've decided to answer one of the most frequently asked questions - what are all the units in CoH 3. Below, we've broken down the troops by faction and the buildings in which they can be recruited. Learn about all the units of the US Forces, Wehrmacht, Afrikakorps and British Forces.

Headquarters all units

  1. Scout Squad (Anti-infantry / Recon) – recon infantry armed with long-range M1 Grand rifles. Has increased line of sight.
  2. Engineer Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with closed-range M3 submachine guns. Can repair and build defenses.

Tank Depot all units

  1. M4A1 Sherman Medium Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti-vehicle / Generalist) – medium tank armed with 75mm gun and two .30cal machine gun.
  2. M18 Hellcat Tank Destroyer (Anti-tank / Anti-vehicle) – medium tank destroyer armed with a 76mm main gun.
  3. M4(105) Sherman Bulldozer (Anti-infantry / Anti-structure) – medium tank armed with a 105mm howitzer and two .30cal machine guns. Can deploy Dozer Blade to clear obstacles.

Motor Pool all units

  1. M24 Chaffee Light Tank (Anti-vehicle) – light tank armed with a 75mm gun and two .30cal machine guns.
  2. M1 Anti-tank Gun Team (Anti-vehicle / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a 57mm anti-tank gun. Can be towed.
  3. M8 Grayhound Armored Car (Anti-infantry / Anti-vehicle) – light vehicle armed with a 37mm gun and a .30cal machine gun.

Weapon Support Center all units

  1. M3 Armored Personnel Carrier (Anti-infantry / Support) – light vehicle armed with a .50cal machine gun. Can transport infantry and heavy machine guns. Can tow heavy weapons. Can reinforce infantry.
  2. Sniper (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with a scoped long-ranged rifle. Has increased line of sight.
  3. Bazooka Squad (Anti-vehicle / Support) – support infantry armed with medium-ranged M1 carbines and M9 bazookas. Can snare vehicles.
  4. M1919 Machine Gun Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a .30cal heavy machine gun. Can suppress infantry within its arc of fire.

Barracks all units

  1. M1 Mortar Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with an 81mm mortar. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage.
  2. 1/4-ton 4x4 Truck (Anti-infantry / Recon) – light vehicle armed with a .30cal machine gun. Has increased line of sight. Can self-repair when stationary and out of combat.
  3. Riflemen Squad (Anti-infantry / Mainline) – mainline infantry armed with medium-ranged M1 Grand rifles and a Thompson submachine gun. Can throw grenades, snare vehicles, and breach enemy-occupied buildings.

Special units

These units require special headquarters upgrades to create.

  1. Captain Retinue (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with M1 Garand rifles, a Thompson submachine gun, and a M1919A6 light machine gun. Can act as forward retreat point.
  2. M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage (Anti-infantry / Anti-aircraft) – light vehicle armed with an M45 “Krautmower” quad .50cal mount. Can prioritize aircraft.
  3. M3 75 mm Gun Motor Carriage (Anti-tank) – light vehicle armed with a fixed 75mm main gun. Can Barrage at range and cause Area of effect damage.
  4. Pathfinder Squad (Anti-infantry / Recon) – Recon infantry armed with long-ranged M1 Garand rifles. They have increased line of sight. Can use Rifle Grenades and Flares.

Battlegroups

  1. Paratrooper (Anti-infantry / Elite) – elite infantry armed with medium-range M1A1 carabines. Can throw grenades and satchel charges.
  2. M31 Recovery Vehicle (Non-combatant / Support) – Unarmed medium recovery vehicle. Can repair, restore and salvage vehicles.
  3. M8 Scott SPG (Anti-infantry / Anti-structure) – Light vehicle armed with a 75mm light howitzer. Can Barrage at range cause area effect damage.
  4. M4A3E8 Sherman Easy Eight (Anti-infantry / Anti-tank) – medium tank with 76mm gun and two .30cal machine guns.
  5. M29 Weasel (Non-combatant / Recon) – unarmed light vehicle. Has increased line of sight. Can transport or tow units. Can deploy unmanned heavy machine guns and mortars.
  6. SSF Commando Squad (Anti-infantry / Elite) – elite infantry armed with medium-range M1 Garand rifles, M1941 light machine guns and M9 Bazookas. Can switch between weapon loadouts. Can throw M15 ‘Willy Pete’ grenades.

Honorary mentions – P-47, C-47 Douglas, L-2 Grasshopper (aircraft).

Headquarters all units

  1. Kettenkrad Recon Vehicle (Non-combatant / Support) – unarmed light vehicle.
  2. Pioneer Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with close-range MP40 sub machine guns. Can repair and build defenses.

Infanterie Kompanie all units

  1. Grenadier Squad (Anti-infantry / Mainline) – mainline infantry armed with long-range Kar98k rifles. Can throw grenades and snare vehicles. Can build defenses.
  2. MG 42 Machine Gun Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with an MG 42 heavy machine gun. Can suppress infantry within its arc of fire.
  3. GrW 34 Mortar Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with an 80mm mortar. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage.
  4. Sniper (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with a scoped long-ranged rifle. Has increased line of sight.

Luftwaffe Kompanie all units

  1. Jager Squad (Anti-infantry / Elite) – elite infantry armed with long-ranged G43 rifles. Can fire Smoke Grenades.
  2. 221 Scout Car (Anti-infantry / Recon) – light vehicle armed with an MG 34 machine gun.
  3. Flak 30 Anti-aircraft Gun Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a 20mm anti-air gun. Can prioritize aircraft. Can be towed.
  4. Marder III M Tank Destroyer (Anti-tank / Anti-vehicle) – light tank chassis armed with a 75mm anti-tank gun.
  5. Wirbelwind Flakpanzer (Anti-infantry / Anti-aircraft) – medium tank chassis with a quad 20mm anti-air gun.

Panzergrenadier Kompanie all units

  1. Pak 40 Anti-tank Gun Team (Anti-vehicle / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a 75mm anti-tank gun. Can be towed.
  2. Panzergrenadier Squad (Anti-infantry / Elite) – elite infantry armed with medium-range StG 44 assault rifles. Can throw grenades and breach enemy-occupied buildings.
  3. 251 Medium Carrier (Anti-infantry / Support) – light vehicle armed with an MG 42 machine gun. Can transport infantry and heavy machine guns. Can tow heavy weapons. Can reinforce infantry.
  4. StuG III G Assault Gun (Anti-tank / Anti-vehicle) – medium tank chassis armed with a fixed 75mm gun.
  5. Nebelwerfer 42 Rocket Launcher Team (Rocket Artillery) – heavy weapon team armed with a 210mm rocket launcher. Can Barrage at range and cause area effect damage. Can be towed.

Panzer Kompanie all units

  1. StoBtruppen Squad (Anti-infantry / Elite) – elite infantry armed with long-range G43 rifles and an MG 42 light machine gun.
  2. Panzer IV Medium Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti-vehicle / Generalist) – medium tank armed with a 75mm gun and two MG 34 machine guns.
  3. Sturmpanzer IV Brummbar (Anti-infantry / Anti-structure) – Medium tank armed with a 150mm gun.

Battlegroups

  1. 8 rad Armored Car (Anti-infantry / Recon) – light vehicle armed with a 20mm autocannon and an MG 34 machine gun.
  2. Panther Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti-tank) – heavy tank armed with 75mm gun and an MG 34 machine gun.
  3. Wespe Artillery – self-propelled artillery armed with 105 mm leFH 18 howitzer. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage.
  4. Tiger Tank – heavy tank armed with 88mm KwK 36, ideal for armor penetration.
  5. 2.5-tonne Cargo Truck (Non-combatant / Support) – unarmed light vehicle.
  6. Fallschirmjager Squad (Anti-infantry / Elite) – Elite infantry armed with FG 42 rifles. Can camouflage when stationary and in cover. Can throw grenades and snare vehicles.
  7. Fallschirmpioneer Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with long-range Kar98k rifles. Can repair and build defenses. Can throw satchel charges.
  8. Honorary Mention – Stuka (aircraft); LG40 Recoilless Launcher and Flak 36 Anti-Tank Gun.

Headquarters all units

  1. 250 Light Carrier (Anti-infantry / Support) – light vehicle armed with an MG 34 light machine gun. Can Transport infantry and heavy machine guns. Can heal nearby infantry.
  2. Panzerpioneer Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – support infantry armed with long-range Kar98k rifles. Can repair and build field defenses. Combined arms bonuses when near combat vehicles.
  3. Panzergrenadier Squad (Anti-infantry / Mainline) – mainline infantry armed with long-ranged Ka98k rifles. Can repair. Combined arms bonuses when near combat vehicles. Can throw grenades and snare vehicles.
  4. Kradschutzen Motorcycle Team (anti-infantry / Recon) – ultra-light vehicle armed with an MG 34 machine gun.

Light Support Kompanie all units

  1. Assault Grenadier Squad (Anti-infantry / Mainline) – mainline infantry armed with close-range submachine gun.
  2. MG34 Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with an MG 34 heavy machine gun. Can suppress infantry within its arc of fire.
  3. 2.5-tonne Medical Truck (Non-combat / Support) – unarmed light vehicle.
  4. le.IG 18 Support Gun Team (Anti-infantry / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a mobile 75mm gun. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage. Can be towed.
  5. Pak 38 Anti-tank Gun Team (Anti-vehicle / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a 50mm anti-tank gun. Can be towed.
  6. Flakvierling Half-track (Anti-infantry / Anti-aircraft) – light vehicle armed with a quad 20mm anti-air gun.

Mechanized Kompanie all units

  1. 8 Rad Armored Car (Anti-infantry) – light infantry armed with a 20mm autocannon and an MG 34 machine gun.
  2. Marder III H Tank Destroyer (Anti-tank / Anti vehicle) – light tank chassis armed with a fixed 75mm anti-tank gun.
  3. 254 Reconnaissance Tractor (Non-combat / Support) – unarmed light vehicle.
  4. 18-tonne Recovery Half-track (Non-combatant / Support) – unarmed light recovery vehicle.
  5. StuG III D Assault Gun (Anti-infantry / Anti-structure) – medium tank chassis armed with a fixed short-barrel 75mm gun.

Panzermee Kommand all units

  1. Panzer III L Medium Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti-vehicle / Generalist) – medium tank armed with a long-barrel 50mm gun and two MG 34 machine guns.
  2. 2.5-tonne Utility Truck (Non-combatant / Support) – comes with a Flak 36 Anti-tank gun.
  3. Walking Stuka Rocket Launcher (Rocket Artillery) – light vehicle armed with 6 long-range rocket launchers. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage. Cannot auto-attack.

Battlegroups

  1. Guastatori Squad – support infantry, effective at close range, can be upgraded with flamethrowers.
  2. Cannone da 105/28 Howitzer – field 105mm howitzer. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage
  3. L6/40 Tank – light tank armed with 20mm Breda 35, can be equipped with a flamethrower.
  4. Bersaglieri Squad (Anti-infantry / Mainline) – Italian infantry equipped with OTO Mod.35 grenades (deal area of effect damage).
  5. Carro Armato M13/40 Tank – light tank armed with 47mm cannone da 47/32 anti-tank gun.
  6. Semovente DA 75/18 Assault Gun – self-propelled gun armed with 75mm obice da 75/18 mod. 34.
  7. Command Panzer IV – medium tank armed with 75mm KwK 37.
  8. Flammpanzer III Tank – medium tank armed with 14mm Flammwerfer, good against infantry.
  9. Honorary Mention – JU-87 and Stuka (aircrafts).

  2. Humber Armored Car (Anti-infantry) – light vehicle armed with a 15mm Besa machine gun.
  3. 6-pounder Anti-tank Gun Team (Anti-vehicle / Heavy weapon) – heavy weapon team armed with a 6-pounder anti-tank gun. Can be towed.
  4. M3 Stuart Light Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti-vehicle / Generalist) Light vehicle armed with a 37mm gun and two .30cal machine guns.
  5. Bishop Self-propelled Artillery (Medium Artillery) – medium tank chassis armed with a 25-pounder howitzer. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage. Cannot auto-attack.

Company Command Post all units

  1. Foot Guards Section (Generalist / Elite) – Elite infantry armed with close-range Thompson submachine guns and two M9 Bazookas. Can throw grenades.
  2. Crusader II Medium Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti Vehicle / Generalist) – medium tank armed with a 2-pounder gun and a Besa Machine gun.
  3. Matilda II Heavy Tank (Anti-infantry / Anti Vehicle / Generalist) – heavy tank armed with a 2-pounder gun and a Besa machine gun.
  4. M3 Grant Medium Tank (Anti infantry / Anti vehicle) – medium tank armed with a 37mm gun, .30cal machine gun and a fixed 75 mm gun.
  5. CMP 15cwt Truck (Anti-vehicle / Heavy weapon) – comes with a 17-pounder Anti-tank gun team. Can transport infantry and heavy machine guns. Can tow heavy weapons. Can reinforce infantry.

Battlegroups

  1. Gurkha Rifles Section – elite infantry armed with Lee-Enfield rifles. Effective against infantry.
  2. ML 4.2-inch Heavy Mortar – heavy weapon armed with a 4.2-inch Mortar. Can barrage at range and cause area of effect damage.
  3. Churchill IV Tank – heavy tank armed with 57mm gun, ideal against vehicles.
  4. Churchill Black Prince Tank – heavy tank armed with 76.2mm gun, experimental variant of Churchill tan.
  5. Centaur Tank – medium tank armed with 57mm gun.
  6. Commando Section (also LMG variant) – elite anti-infantry squad.
  7. Honorary Mention – Hawker Typhoons (aircraft), BL5.5 Artillery Emplacement.

Bonus: Resistance

These units are not a regular part of your armies, however, you can hire them during some missions in the campaign.

  1. Resistance Fighter Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – Mainline infantry armed with Carcano rifles, effective at far and medium range. Can be upgraded with Berreta Model 38. Breda m1930, or Panzerschrek. Can throw Grenades.
  2. Saboteur Squad (Anti-infantry / Support) – Support infantry armed with long-range Carcano rifles. Can plant explosive demolition charges and throw anti-tank satchel charges. Can camouflage when stationary and in cover.
  3. Marksmen Team (Anti-infantry / Support) – Support infantry team armed with a scoped Lee Enfield rifle. Has increased vision and weapon range. Deadly effective against infantry and team weapons. Can be upgraded with a Panzerbushe 39 rifle. Has increased line of sight.
