Remedy Entertainment (the creators of, among others, Control i Alan Wake) published a financial report summarizing 2021, in which we can read about the status of the five projects the studio is currently working on. In addition to Alan Wake 2 and the new Control (with the working title Codename Heron), we also received information about Codename Vanguard and Codename Condor. To this we should of course add new versions of the first two installments of Max Payne, which are to be released as a single item.

Remedy has its hands full...

Alan Wake 2 is taking shape. There are already many playable fragments in the game, but the developers still have a lot of work ahead of them. Remedy Entertainment still expects the release next year.

Codename Vanguard is to be a third-person co-op shooter. The game is being developed in cooperation with the Chinese company Tencent and is to be made available in F2P model. The studio wants to skillfully combine the typical form of an action game with multiplayer fun (which is a novelty for Remedy). At this moment the project is still at the stage of concept work.

Codename Condor is at a similar stage. This game will be a side story set in the universe created for Control. The same goes for the full-fledged sequel to this surreal game - it too remains in the concept stage, so it'll be a while before Remedy shares the first footage from it. At the moment it doesn't have a specific name - instead it has a working title Codename Heron.

...and a positive outlook on the future

It is also worth noting that Remedy's Northlight team is developing technology and tools for the studio's next games.. Recall that Northlight was used by the developersto build Control and Quantum Break. This engine will also serve the remakes of Max Payne.

This year has started well for Remedy, and the future looks bright as well. In the near future the company will focus on finalizing the projects it has started and making sure its teams have all the resources they need to do so.

Revenues for Remedy in the previous year reached more than 44.7 million euros, and operating profit exceeded 11.4 million. The first quarter of last year brought the studio 8.1 million euros, while in the first quarter of this year it received 12.7 million euros in revenue. Although the company expects lower earnings this year, it looks positively to the future. The next large projects from the team are expected to appear at the turn of 2023-2025 and it is at this time that Remedy expects greater financial success.
