CS: GO Modder Creates Destructible Map

Here's an interesting example of the creative powers of CS: GO's modding community. Polish modder LionDoge has created a model of the Inferno map, which is fully vulnerable to damage from grenades, bullets and explosives.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Polish modder LionDoge has created his version of the Inferno map from CS:GO;
  • Arena's spin-off introduces the ability to completely destroy the environment;
  • Destructible Inferno is available for download on Steam Workshop.

Physics has unique laws in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. One of them is that the vast majority of physical objects (such as doors on Nuke) are indestructible on all maps. The situation has been changed by LionDoge - a Polish modder, released an arena called Destructible Inferno on Steam Workshop The map is a variation on the popular map from CS:GO, but it adds advanced destruction physics straight from Rainbow Six: Siege.

As we can read on the project's Steam Workshop page:

"In this spin-off of Inferno you can witness all kinds of destruction, from small falling pots to falling towers, what will happen depends entirely on you (and sometimes chickens). The terrorists will have breaching charges at their disposal to break through walls, so keep an eye out! Using fragile barrels and boxes as your cover might not be a great idea."

Destructible Inferno is playable in the standard CS:GO modes such as Classic Ranked Match (5 vs. 5), Wingman (2 vs. 2), and Simplified Mode (max 10 players per side). The difference, in addition to fully destructible environment, the maps adds explosives to the terrorists' equipment, which can significantly change the image of the gameplay we know from standard matches. If we want, the anti-terrorists will also be able to equip themselves with them depending on the game mode.

Remember that in this type of mods can have various bugs, which is mentioned by the author of the map. The most common glitch is getting blocked by elements of blown up objects. Unfortunately, some errors are unavoidable due to the physics of the Source engine.

If you're bored with classic tournament matches and want to see what CS:GO's love child with Rainbow Six: Siege would be like, you can find the map here.
