CS2 Beta Access and Other Essentials Explained

CS2 has been officially announced, and with it come the beta tests. In this news item you will find out how you can access them and what to expect.

We already know that fans of Counter-Strike will have the opportunity to test the new version of the game before its release. However, how to access it?

CS2 beta access explained

Getting access to the beta of CS2 depends on numerous factors decided by the developers, such as recent activity on Valve's official servers, confidence level and Steam account status. Unfortunately, therefore, you yourself do not have the opportunity to do something to convince the developers.

If you are selected, you will receive a notification in the main menu of CSGO. Then select "ENROLL" and start the download. Once the download is complete, launch CSGO and select "Limited Test" to start playing.

The developers plan to bring new players into the beta on a regular basis. This means you can receive a notification at any time, and with it access to the beta. The tests themselves, meanwhile, will last until the release of CS2, which is this summer.

CS2 beta modes and maps

The beta will offer Deathmatch and Unranked Competitive modes on Dust2. More updates will be released in the future, offering new game modes, maps and features. If bugs are encountered, it will be possible to send an email with a description of the problem and steps to reproduce it so Valve can address them.

CS2 beta skins

What about skins, stickers, etc.? We have good news. All of your inventory items from CSGO will be transferred to Counter-Strike 2. During testing, however, it will not be possible to modify the items included in it.

CS2 beta - who will not play?

However, not everyone will be able to enjoy testing the game. The beta is only available on Windows. Those with VAC or in-game bans will not be able to play on VAC servers in Counter-Strike 2.

Looking for additional information, it is worth following the CSGO blog, where the developers will keep you updated on the availability of new modes and features in Counter-Strike 2. More details on the beta testing of CS2 can be found here.
