CS:GO Gets Randomly Generated Map With 30 Million Variants

The CS:GO community continues to impress. This time, outstanding creativity was demonstrated by Russian moderator OrelStealth, who prepared a 100% procedurally generated map in Steam Workshop.

When you think of maps in Counter Strike: Global Offensive, you probably think of the legendary Dust II, the popular Mirage, or Nuke. These locations are often so familiar to players that they can tell where their opponent is with pixel-perfect accuracy during a match. But how about a map that changes before each round?

On January 15, Russian player OrelStealth shared his latest project in Steam Workshop - a map called Aim Inferno Rouge. Admittedly, it is used only for training, but the very fact that it is procedurally generated before each match is impressive. The author boasts that up to 30 million combinations of his map are possible. Aim Inferno Rouge is built largely on the models we can find on the well-known Inferno, but thanks to the random generation of layout, each time the battlefield looks different.

Before the round itself, the player can choose several parameters. These are, among others, difficulty level and the number of bots (both on our and opposite side), type of weapon or the amount of ammunition. However, the most interesting is the possibility of choosing whether the map will be symmetrical, semi-symmetrical or asymmetrical. Based on our decisions it will be generated and we can start the round by going to the "start" field. During the match we can see that the map is not large and very complex, but thanks to the randomization it can not be denied its usefulness in training.

From the point of view of training shooting skills, it's an interesting proposition for CS fans - when you can't rely on the knowledge of the terrain, you need to demonstrate good aiming skills. The map is available to everyone for free in Steam Workshop.
