New gameplay footage from the upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty, has hit the web. The video argues that combat will be more impressive than before thanks to new abilities or weapons.
The release of a major story DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will take place this month, so the developers are not stopping to share new footage from Phantom Liberty. Today, the developers published a new video showcasing gameplay from the expansion (available below). It was created by user @Much118x, who specializes in recording game footage on commission.
Admittedly, the footage is not very long, but the montage of impressive fragments of battles in Night City whets appetites before Phantom Liberty's release. It shows the new weapons that the player will receive as part of the DLC, including the Rasetsu sniper rifle.
Also attracting attention are previously unavailable mechanics, most notably dynamic combat during car chases, which, by the way, will make its way into the base game as part of update 2.0 (for free, of course). The video also shows some modified implants, allowing for, among other things, deflecting bullets with melee weapons or performing brutal finishers.
Recall that some of the new features, such as "combat driving" and an improved police system, will soon be available for free to owners of the basic version of Cyberpunk 2077 on PC, PS5 and XSX/S thanks to update 2.0. Paid DLC Phantom Liberty will, on the other hand, introduce a new district, quests, weapons, vehicles or the Relic skill tree.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will debut on September 26 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs. Update 2.0 should be released around the same time.
