How to Revive in Dark and Darker – Altar
If one of your teammates succumbed to the threats and their character died, there is a way to bring them back to life. However, this method requires you to find an Altar of Sacrifice. It is a stone altar, at the center of which you can see a floating ball of light.
However, before you start looking for the Altar of Sacrifice, first deal with the dead companion you want to revive. You should loot this person. It may sound strange, but you have to take off their chestplate, and then pick up their Soul Heart (shown above).
Now all you have to do is go to the Altar of Sacrifice and interact with it, so that your companion will come to life and support you again in battle and exploration.
This method involves losing a certain amount of your character's health. The revived companion will appear in the game with the amount of health that you have sacrificed. They will be wounded and on top of that, without gear. However, the character will be able to return to the dead body and reclaim the items, assuming no one has already taken them. It is a good idea to take the most valuable items from the body earlier.
How to Revive in Dark and Darker – Cleric
There is also a second method that enables you to resurrect a party member without picking up the Soul Heart. However, it requires having a player with the Cleric class in your party. What's more, the Cleric should select the Resurrection spell (tier 8) in the Class menu, in order to be able to use it.
Make sure you're safe at the location before resurrecting a character. Remember not to move or look around while casting Resurrection. This may cancel the casting of your spell.
