Dark and Darker is an action-packed game in which, together with friends, we can roam dungeons, face enemies and strengthen the character we control. The game features several classes, and with this guide you will learn what characterizes the Ranger and what skills and perks we recommend for the beginning.

Dark and Darker – Ranger perks

The Ranger, as the name suggests, is a character who specializes in ranged combat. His perks enhance the class' abilities in various ways. There are nine perks available at the moment, and they are:

1. Crossbow Mastery – 50% faster weapon reload and movement speed when reloading crossbow. Plus 5% more damage dealt.
2. Enhanced Hearing – enables you to better hear nearby enemies.
3. Kinesthesia – 10% faster movement with string drawn.
4. Nimble Hands – 15% faster shooting with a bow.
5. Ranged Weapons Expert – 5% higher damage dealt with ranged weapons.
6. Sharpshooter – 15% higher headshot damage when attacking with a long-ranged weapon.
7. Spear Proficiency – enables you to use spears and adds 10 points to your strength.
8. Tracking – enables you to track your opponents.
9. Trap Expert – enables you to set traps faster.

Dark and Darker – Ranger skills

In addition to perks, the ranger also has skills that can be activated to deal more damage, heal the character or increase attack speed.

1. Field Ration – recover 25 HP.
2. Multishot – fires 5 arrows simultaneously from a bow at different angles.
3. Quick Fire – for 8 seconds, increases attack speed by 50% when using a bow.
4. Quickshot – enables you to load 3 arrows simultaneously and shoot them in the next action.
5. True Shot – increases the speed of projectiles. Additionally, your physical attack power grows by 5%.

The biggest advantage of the Ranger is the movement speed and the ability to inflict high ranged damage. When fighting the most demanding opponents, the best skills are Quick Fire and Quickshot. If you want to play safe, use Field Ration.

If you also have perks Nimble hands and Ranged Weapons Expert, your character can be very effective in battle. Add to this Kinesthesia and Sharpshooter and you become a powerful character. It is also worth considering whether you prefer to use a bow or crossbow and create a build based on one of these weapons. However, most players agree that bows are more effective.

Trap Expert (perk) and Multishot (skill) are also an interesting combination. Trapping opponents, approaching them and using Multishot at close range to make sure as many arrows reach them as possible can be deadly.

Unfortunately, the Ranger also has weaknesses, such as the fact that the class performs poorly in melee combat and has a small number of HP, so it can easily die if surrounded by enemies.
