Dead Island 2 vs Dying Light 2 - Which to Choose?

After many years in the dreaded development hell, Dead Island 2 has finally launched and is available on PC, PS5/PS4, XSX and XONE. The first reviews show that we're dealing with a solid game. The game is very similar to another zombie hit, i.e. Dying Light 2. Below, you will learn about some of the similarities and differences between the two games.

Similarities

1. Gameplay – the main similarity is, of course, the gameplay, which entails navigating a vast world and fighting zombies with a large arsenal of weapons.
2. Camera work – in both cases, we're dealing with first-person perspective, which works very well in productions focused on combat.
3. Graphics – both games maintain a very high level of graphics. Both Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2 look quite impressive even on medium details.
4. Violence – there's no denying that since we have many different weapons at our disposal, and we are attacked from everywhere by zombies, there must also be bloodbaths in these games. Both games emphasize combat, which often leads to brutal solutions.

Dead island 2 vs Dying Light 2 – differences

1. Plot – Dead Island 2 puts more emphasis on humor and a relaxed approach to story. Dying Light 2, on the other hand, definitely treats the story in a more serious and dark manner.
2. Movement – Dying Light 2 has a very well-implemented system of parkour; running, climbing and jumping, thanks to which the exploration of the city alone is thrilling. In Dead Island 2, we don't have that option.
3. Atmosphere – as in the case of the story, the atmosphere in Dead Island 2 is more upbeat and silly, which seems kind of obvious if you look, for example, at the bright and saturated colors of the environment.
4. Stores and availability – in the case of PC, Dead Island 2 is a temporary exclusive title for the Epic Games Store, and it will remain the store's exclusive product for year following the release. Dying Light 2 for PC is also available on Steam.

Which one to choose?

If you care about a deeper, more serious story and want to enjoy an impressive movement system, Dying Light 2 is a game for you. Dead Island 2 is worth recommending to everyone who cares more about combat and a looser, humorous approach to the story .
