Dead Island 2 has experienced several truly successful months. In February this year, the game was added to the Game Pass offer, and a little later - in April - to the Steam library. The title's increased popularity was due to its greater accessibility.

Since its release in spring 2023, the game has already been tested by 7 million players. The game's devs - Dambuster Studios - boasted about this impressive achievement in an announcement published on the occasion of the anniversary of the release of Dead Island 2. They also mentioned that throughout this time, players were able to eliminate 24 billion zombies.

We have had well over 7 million players enter Hell-A and a brain melting 24 BILLION zombies slayed! These are simply mind boggling numbers! We were also truly honoured to be nominated for Best Action Game at the Game Awards last year, and more recently for Best British Game at the esteemed BAFTA’s -- reads a part of the statement.

Despite such a successful period, the developers have no plans to rest on their laurels and are diligently working on new features to their flagship title. Unfortunately, the message doesn't provide any clues about the upcoming content, but the devs have promised to share "some exciting and long awaited new game updates" in the near future. We remind you that the game has so far received, among others, two major expansions.
