Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, also known as DRG Survivor, is a top-down auto-shooter with elements of survival and roguelike (something for fans of Vampire Survivors). The game is currently in Early Access and only features single player gameplay. Some players have been wondering if there will be a chance to experience the battle against aliens with a teammate. The question of Multiplayer in DRG Survivor has come up on the official Discord of the game. The team working on DRG responded with the following:
The focus right now is on creating a single-player experience, with you battling endless hordes of alien monsters all by yourself, like a badass space dwarf. On the positive side, at least you don’t have to share your precious bismor at the end of a run.
Based on the phrasing, it seems like co-op is not completely out of question for Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, but its very low on the list of priorities and not being worked on right now. It’s possible that the developers would consider adding multiplayer in the future, but it wouldn’t happen for a long time, not until the team is satisfied with the game as a single-player experience.
DRG Survivor is expected to be in Early Access for 6-12 months. You can keep track of official announcements if you’re interested in future developments. However, keep in mind that the devs aren’t promising anything regarding co-op and might decide the game doesn’t need it in the end.
