We live in times when games can be developed and worked on while players are already enjoying the production. That lets those less patient of us experience a title before it’s properly finished, though it comes with its disadvantages. Sometimes, while implementing changes, developers can break what was already working. This is exactly the case with the new Demonologist update that brought problems with multiplayer where no lobby can be found. Let’s see what the bug is and what can be done about it.

Demonologist no lobby found bug explained

A new update for Demonologist added new content, among others a whole new map called Bedlam. With all the improvements and fixes it unfortunately introduced a bug where some players cannot see or join lobbies. It is also possible to get a “version mismatch” error. The developers are aware of this issue and are working on a solution to have it fixed as soon as possible.

As annoying as it may be, we have to keep in mind that the game is still in Early Access. These things are unfortunately prone to happen as the title continues to become bigger and (hopefully) better.

How to fix no lobby found bug

As mentioned, developers are already working on resolution, yet there may be some ways to work around the situation and venture together with your friends to a new haunted location.

There is no official way to fix this multiplayer bug yet. Everything explained below is based on users’ experience and may not be a solution for your specific problem. If nothing helps in your case, it will be best to wait for a hotfix that should be released by Clock Wizard Games Team anytime soon.

So far it seems that there are three methods that can help you work around this problem:

  1. There have been reports that starting a game on any map, quitting Demonologist, exiting Steam, and opening it again fixes the issue.
  2. If the solution above doesn’t work, go to Steam’s settings, open Downloads tab, and change your Download region to any other.
  3. Another thing you can try is to again, open Steam settings, go to Downloads tab, and Clear Cache.

Hopefully the official solution will be implemented in no time, and you will be able to hear your friends scream while exploring the new Bedlam map.
