Desperados 3 Devs Prepare Big Changes for New Game, Süßkartoffel
The developers of Desperados 3 have revealed some information about their upcoming strategy game, known under the working title Süßkartoffel. They reveal that the game will be more sandbox-like and accessible.
As you may remember, Mimimi Games (studio known, among other things, for creating Desperados 3) is working on a mysterious project codenamed Süßkartoffel, or "sweet potato." For the past two years, the developers have been silent about their new project. Recently, however, they decided to reveal some interesting information. They show that the strategy game will be more sandbox-like and accessible.
We learned these details thanks to journalists from Rock Paper Shotgun. They contacted Mimimi Games to inquire about the progress of the project.
- The game is to have a more open structure than the studio's previous works. During the adventure we will be able to solve a given problem in several different ways. In addition, before each mission we will choose an optimal team consisting of characters with different skills. Game's manager Moritz Wagner announced that he wants the whole thing to be the same evolution for their strategy game as it has become Metal Gear Solid V for stealth games.
- The whole thing is supposed to be more accessible to new players, offering, for example, more difficulty levels to choose from. This is because the developers noted that their previous strategy games had a rather high entry threshold and could discourage beginners. However, the game is still expected to include elements that will offer a challenge to fans of the genre.
