Diablo 4 Open Beta is Live [UPDATED]

Diablo IV Open Beta is coming this weekend. When it will start, when it will end, how to get access, when the preload will start, what character classes it will offer - you'll find the answers in this post.

Update March 24: The open beta has formally begun. It will last until Monday at 8 p.m. CET.

In just two days, the Gates of Hell will open again, this time for all interested parties. This is because on March 24, the highly anticipated open beta of Diablo 4 will be launched.

In this text we provide key information about the upcoming tests.

Diablo 4 Open Beta - launch times and platforms

When will the Gates of Hell - after a successful Early Access - be opened again?

  1. The launch will take place on Friday, March 24 at 5 p.m. CET.
  2. Open beta of Diablo IV will last until March 27 (Monday) at 8 p.m. CET.

Diablo 4 will be available for testing for free on all target hardware platforms, namely PC, PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX/S.

Along with the start of the open beta, a cross-platform feature will also come to the game, which means that all beta participants will be able to play together - regardless of the platform.

Diablo 4 Open Beta - how to get access?

The only thing you need to do to play the open beta of Diablo IV is to install the game from a product card available on PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store in the case of console gamers, or log in to the Battle.net app, and then select the first item on the list under "all games", i.e. Diablo IV, which is marked with a red box with the word "Beta" for PC players.

Diablo 4 Open Beta - is Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus required?

Interestingly enough, to play the beta of Diablo 4 on consoles it is not required to have an online subscription: Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus. This situation will change only after the official release of the game.

Diablo 4 Open Beta - when will the preload start?

Preload starts today, i.e. March 22, at 5 p.m. CET.. You will be able to download the game files in advance on all platforms.

Contents of the Diablo 4 open beta

What will we be bale to test as part of the open beta? With the start of the beta, we will access the beginning of the game, i.e. the Prologue and Act 1.

  1. The arena of struggle of Diablo 4 open beta will be the Shattered Plains, full of gothic darkness.
  2. During the beta we will visit numerous caves or ancient ruins, but we will also be able to catch a breather in the city.

It is worth noting that the Diablo 4 beta offers not only the main storyline, but also a number of smaller side quests, the completion of which will prove necessary to reach a high level during the test.

A major attraction of the open beta will be the opportunity to encounter the world's boss, Ashava, who will appear only at designated times.

  1. March 25 (from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CET)
  2. March 26 (from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. CET).

Co-op mode in Diablo 4 open beta

It should be mentioned that with the start of the open beta, players will be able to traverse the Shattered Plains in co-op mode: local for two people (on consoles only) or online for four players.

Diablo 4 - character classes and level cap

Within the open beta of Diablo 4 players will be able to choose one of the following five classes:

  1. Rogue
  2. Sorceress
  3. Barbarian
  4. Necromancer
  5. Druid

This is a change from Early Access, when only three classes were made available to players - without the Necromancer and Druid.

The open beta - as with Early Access - will introduce a character level cap. During the beta, our character will be able to reach level 25.

What's more, one account can have a maximum of 10 characters at a time.

Diablo 4 Beta - progress, rewards and streaming

Blizzard has confirmed that progress from the beta will not be transferred to the full version of Diablo 4. The only progress retained refers to those who have already played through Early Access and who want to test the game again.

Importantly, however, there will be prizes for players who reach at least character level 20 during the weekend. We are talking about a special title and a a unique cosmetic item. One of the additional titles can also be obtained by reaching some specific place.

It is worth mentioning that test participants can freely stream their Diablo IV sessions. The developers themselves are also organizing a community broadcast, which will take place on March 24 at 7 p.m. CET.

Recall that, as previously announced, on March 17 launched the official forum of the fourth Diablo This is where you will be able to report problems with the game, or add your "2 cents" to the discussion.

More information about the beta can be found on the official website of Diablo IV. The full version of the game will debut on June 6, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
