Is it possible to watch Lazarus in sub and dub versions? Japanese dubbing for anime explained.
The new anime from Shinichiro Watanabe has finally debuted. It is one of the most anticipated series in the Spring 2025 season, so it is not at all surprising to see the interest in this title after its release and the questions that have been raised in recent days.
One of them concerns a key issue for anime, namely, which language versions to watch it in – a sub or a dub would be better. The one that viewers are most likely to use is the “original,” or just Japanese. Does Lazarus also have a Japanese dub? Although this one has been created, it is unavailable in most countries at this point, including the US. Viewers watching Lazarus on Adult Swim or Max have to settle with the English-language version, at least for now.
According to reports, Lazarus in Japanese is scheduled to be released on Adult Swim and Max 30 days after its initial release, so there will be a bit of a wait. This is an unusual situation, given that most anime come out in Japanese first, with English and other language dubbing available at a later date. This time, most viewers around the world are getting the English version first.
So you can watch the anime now in English (or in your local language, as many countries have released anime in other languages as well), or wait 30 days for the Japanese version. You can compare the two versions on the trailers that were released before the premiere. Perhaps they will help you decide which version appeals to you the most. And if you like Lazarus, why not just watch it in both versions?
