Does the City of Ennis From True Detective: Night Country Really Exist?

The 2014 series True Detective, produced by HBO, has been praised by critics and fans worldwide. Without a doubt, this is one of the most interesting crime series of recent years. The upcoming season, titled Night Country, will premiere on January 14th of this year.
This time, the action will take us to Alaska, where detective Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) will face the mystery of the disappearance of eight researchers working at the Arctic Research Station Tsalal. The women will confront their own dark past and the concealed realities of the small town of Ennis.
Ennis appears to be a place that could really exist, judging by the set design, frames, and trailer. That's why people interested in the topic began searching for answers before the premiere. Is Ennis a fictional or a real town?
The truth lies in the middle. Despite displaying typical Alaskan town characteristics, the film set was located hundreds of kilometers away in a completely different country. Ennis is therefore a fictional town. The series was filmed in several locations in Iceland. The production took place from November 2022 to April 2023.
The series is planned to premiere on January 14 on HBO Max.
