Dead by Daylight is popular asymmetrical horror game which is being constantly developed. Yesterday, Behaviour Interactive has published a post with list of changes that will come to DBD in the near future. It mentions a new game mode – Lights Out. In this guide you will learn more about it.
Lights Out in DBD explained
Not much is known about Lights Out at this point. Behaviour has only announced that it will be available as a gameplay modifier for a limited time. It’s scheduled to come to Dead by Daylight in a later date. However, the developers have posted an interesting post on X. It features a flashlight and the date 9 January. This suggests that a developer stream, scheduled for today at 9:30 am ET. may show the first details of the new game mode.
Players are currently speculating what this modifier might be. It’s almost certain that this will cause darkness on the map.
- There has been speculation that it will simply be a permanent Dredge’s Nightfall mode.
- The mentioned post may suggest that survivors will be able to use torches to dispel the darkness.

Behaviour Interactive has not presented any new details related to the Lights Out game mode during the event. The previously mentioned post on X turned out to be a teaser of a new survivor that is Alan Wake.
