Doomfist is another character coming to Overwatch next week

Next week, Overwatch players will get another character, the long-awaited Doomfist. This melee-focused warrior will let you feel powerful and feast on other players' frustration as you pummel them.

Meet Doomfist, another playable hero to join the characters roster in Blizzard Entertainment’s Overwatch. Right now he is only to be found in Public Test Realm on PC, but the character will be made available across all platforms (PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4) on July 27, 2017. As you might have guessed by the name, Doomfist is an offensive, melee-focused warrior, equipped with a huge mechanical hand. Here’s an overview video, in which developers from Blizzard talk about Doomfist’s main features:

Apart from punching people in the face, Doomfist is able to use a short-range hand cannon and create a protective shield. His ultimate ability lets him relocate to a selected spot, while crashing to the ground and damaging everyone around. Interestingly, the first mention about Doomfist goes back to Overwatch’s very first trailer, in which a kid admires the hero’s mechanical hand in a museum. Back then, Blizzard did not plan to implement that character, yet there he is. Read more about Doomfist’s abilities and origin story on Overwatch’s official website.
