It is not uncommon for games to let you impersonate the villain instead of a hero. In such titles, the evil you are told to spread is usually mostly comical and exaggerated to a point of eventually doing good like in case of Overlord. It was not the first one, as Dungeon Keeper already took that road a decade earlier. People liked the idea to such extent, that we can currently enjoy the fourth part of Dungeons series that is greatly inspired by the latter of the mentioned productions. Not malicious in its nature, though still inconvenient, changing a language of Dungeons 4 is not a straightforward task if you play the Game Pass version of it. Here you will learn how to work around it.

Changing Dungeons 4 language in Gamepass explained

Changing a game’s language should be a basic option that can be changed in two clicks from the level of the main menu. This is unfortunately not the case with Dungeons 4, especially if you would like to give it a shot as a part of Gam Pass subscription.

Players who would like to play the title in a different language than their system’s were looking for a solution on Steam’s Community Hub. It is possible to change the language of Dungeons 4, though it requires some tinkering.

As the game will always open in the language that is set on Windows, you have to trick the game that your system is set to the language that you want to play the game in. To do that:

  1. Open Powershell console as administrator. You can do it by searching for “Powershell” in Windows’ Start Menu, right clicking it and selecting “Run as administrator”. Make sure to click “Yes”, when you will be prompted to by User Account Control,
  2. Type or copy the following string and click enter:

Set-Culture -CultureInfo en-US

  1. Launch the game and enjoy it in English,
  2. After you finished playing (or if you prefer you can alt tab right after launching the game), use the same command, but change en-US to your desired language. Confirm by pressing enter.

Unfortunately, you would have to do that each time you run the game. Since the game uses Encrypted UWP data model in Game Pass version of the game, it is impossible to do it in a permanent way without using external programs that will allow you to read those files.

In case you would like to play Dungeons 4 in different language than English, you can change “en-US” to any of the following languages, that the game supports:

  1. es-ES (Spanish)
  2. de-DE (German)
  3. pt-BR (Portuguese – Brazil)
  4. pt-PT (Portuguese – Portugal)
  5. pl-PL (Polish)
  6. ru-RU (Russian)
  7. zh-CN (Chinese - China)
  8. zh-TW (Chinese - Taiwan)
  9. ko-KR (Korean)
  10. ja-JP (Japanese)
  11. fr-FR (French)
  12. it-IT (Italian)
  13. ar-AE (Arabic)
  14. tr-TR (Turkish)
