Recently, very often we hear about takeovers in the gaming industry. Suffice it to recall at least the January buyout of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. As it turns out, Electronic Arts also wants to be acquired by another company. So far, however, no deal has come to fruition.
As reported by Puck News, EA has been in talks with the American media corporation NBCUniversal. The case even went to Comcast, the owner of the potential buyer. Ultimately, however, the deal fell through because the two companies were unable to come to an agreement.
However, EA is said not to give up and continues to look for a potential buyer. Among the companies that could take over the game developer appears Disney. Both corporations are linked by licensing agreements for the use of the Star Wars brand. According to the sources of Puck News Electronic Arts wants to strengthen this cooperation.
Of course, this information does not come from official sources. We should therefore approach it with caution. If in fact EA is taken over by another company, we will certainly hear about it.
