Factorio 2.0 will introduce quite a few new features. One of them fans have been wanting for many years, and the developers have finally found a way to put things, literally, one on top of the other.
2024 will bring a lot of new products to Factorio as part of a major overhaul of this popular production. After announcing an option previously considered "too hardcore," Wube Software studio confirmed that Factorio 2.0 will introduce a feature desired by fans for years: the ability to form stacks on conveyor belts.
This seemingly small novelty has long been awaited by players, but until now, the creators have rejected this idea. On the game's official forum, the team cited various arguments against implementing this solution. However, as often happens, discussions about obstacles on the way to the goal only encouraged the creators to find a solution.
It took the form of a new device called bulk inserter. Wube Software's proposal is not perfect, but it meets most of the players' expectations. Details were revealed in an entry on the official Factorio blog, which also included videos and animations presenting how this function works.
These announcements delighted the enthusiasts of maximum production optimization, although they still have to wait to test the new options. Update 2.0 will come to Factorio with the release of the Space Age expansion later this year. We do not know the exact date, but according to the latest information, the paid expansion will debut no earlier than August.
