UPDATE: The Judgment series on PC is now official!
Sega didn't keep us waiting long for confirmation of rumors about the PC versions of Judgment and Lost Judgment. The publisher first announced them on Twitter, and a few dozen minutes later they went on sale on Steam.
Judgment costs $39.99, and Lost Judgment is sold at full price, that is $59.99.
It turns out that the announcement of Like a Dragon: Ishin is not the only attraction Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has prepared for its fans today. Also revealed was one new game that is a continuation of the storyline of Yakuza 6 and a lot of details were provided regarding Yakuza: Like a Dragon 2.
Also revealed was the project Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
New details have also been revealed about Yakuza: Like a Dragon 2.
This is not the only good news for fans of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's creations. Everything indicates that we will live to see the PC versions of theJudgement series.
These reports are a pleasant surprise, since until now it seemed that there was no chance of porting both parts of the series. The reason was conflict with the talent agency Johnny's Associates, which owns Takuya Kimura, who plays the lead role in both parts of the series. This company was blocking PC port of the series. It was speculated that the reason was concerns that fan modifications might damage the actor's good image.
The situation was so bad that Sega threatened to abandon the series, as the PC market is too important for the publisher not to port its biggest games. If the entries in the ESRB database are confirmed, it's likely that this threat had an effect and forced Johnny's Associates to change its approach.
