Free MMO Broken Ranks Now Available

Yesterday marked the release of a new old-school MMO. We are talking about Broken Ranks, a remake of the popular The Pride of Taern.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Yesterday marked the release of Broken Ranks;
  • The free MMO is a remake of The Pride of Taern;
  • The developers have significantly expanded the world and improved the visuals.

A new F2P MMO made its launch yesterday. The title in question is Broken Ranks, a network game prepared by Whitemoon Games and a remake of the once popular browser MMO The Pride of Taern, the history of which dates back to 2010.

Broken Ranks is modeled on classic, isometric RPGs. Players choose one of seven available character classes and embark on a journey through the ruined land of Taern. The adventure can be experienced either alone or with a group of friends, who support us in turn-based combat. Battles are based on a rather specific mechanics, requiring the players to perform individual moves simultaneously and under the pressure of time. This is supposed to add some dynamic to combat.

In addition, as we have already mentioned, Broken Ranks is a remake. The game offers a handful of improvements compared to the original. The most visible difference is, of course, much better visuals, which, thanks to the characteristic style, look really good. In addition, the developers have expanded the game world, so that it is now more extensive and full of activities. The basic gameplay formula, however, remained unchanged.

If you have ever played The Pride of Taern and do not want to start playing Broken Ranks from scratch, the creators have good news. Old characters - along with unlocked and developed skills or items - can be transferred to the new version. Details on this process can be found on the official website.
