GTA creator and Rockstar Games founder starts to reveal his new project. Absurdaverse will feature open world and „the best combat in the genre”
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser shed some light on his new studio's project, a game set in the Absurdaverse universe. Among other things, we received a first look at the game's characters.

Five years ago, the co-founder of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, left the ranks of the company to seek new challenges. A year later, the creative director of games from the GTA series, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3, and Bully, founded the Absurd Ventures studio, whose goal is to create "new universes and tell great stories" in all available media.
So far, there has been quite silence about the planned projects. AV is working on the American Capper comic, the A Better Paradise audio series, and a mysterious open-world action game. According to last year's job offer at the studio, this game is expected to deliver "the best combat and third-person action across several gameplay modes in this genre," as well as an open world.
This mysterious game will most likely be part of the Absurdaverse universe revealed by Houser. From the post published by the developer on X, it appears that this is supposed to be an "adventure role-playing game with elements of action and comedy." Furthermore, Absurd Ventures is also working on several "animated projects."
What is extremely important, the post was adorned with graphics depicting a palette of various characters belonging to Absurdaverse. Take a look at the "new types of heroes" and see "how they suffer."
Houser revealed that we will receive more information about the upcoming titles of Absurd Ventures this year. So we have no choice but to be patient and look out for further announcements.
