GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition Patch 1.03 Goes Live

Rockstar and Grove Street Games continue their attempts to fix the remaster of the GTA trilogy. The latest patch, 1.03, introduces a number of changes and improvements that the players have been waiting for.

Rockstar Games and Grove Street Games have released a new update that fixes the most pressing issues of the remastered GTA trilogy. The patch fixes the falling rain effect and texture bugs, among other things, and introduces a new camera mode. Patch 1.03 is available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. No information has been given about the patch being made available on Nintendo Switch.

The patch notes are long, but players should be most pleased with the numerous fixes that remove some bugs and make the game more stable. The rain effect mocked by many users has also been supposedly improved. It should no longer appear inside buildings during cutscenes. A nice touch is the implementation of a cinematic camera that can be activated while driving.

According to GTANet's Twitter profile, there's also an option to disable white outlines around targets. One of the commenters on this post claims that the developers have added the option to turn on a light mist that envelops the cities. Many players have been demanding this feature, as the compressed map design in GTA and the far field of view did not go well together. They also destroyed the illusion of a huge world in San Andreas.

The size of the games after the update also indicates that there are relatively many changes. The Xbox Series X version is expected to look as follows:

  • GTA 3: The Definitive Edition - approximately 5 GB
  • GTA: Vice City - The Definitive Edition - 10.5 GB
  • GTA: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition - 21.6 GB

The full list of changes can be found on the official website of Rockstar Games.
