Harold Halibut is a lovely handcrafted stop-motion adventure game

Adventure games are a plenty out there, but not many of them are handmade - Harold Halibut is. The project is being created with the stop-motion technique, while all its environments and characters are made of real-life materials.

If you fancy oldschool, yet original adventure games, you should definitely check out Harold Halibut. What is the most striking about the project, is that its entire graphics – all settings and characters – are handmade. As a result, Harold Halibut plays like a typical point-and-click adventure game, but it looks like a stop-motion film. Here is the first teaser trailer that provides a glimpse at how much heart and effort the developers poured into making some wood, metal, textile, clay, and other materials come to live:

The game is set within a spacecraft which crashed on a strange planet made up of water. While one of the lead scientists remaining on board gets busy working on relaunching the ship, you get to play as a young and clumsy janitor, named Harold Halibut, who assists her in that undertaking. Apart from tending to his daily duities Harold will get to discover the ship’s secrets. The developers at Slow Bros. promise to enrich the game with unique nautical atmosphere and self-reflective humor.

Each and every detail here was handcrafted with real-life materials.

As for now, Harold Halibut has no release window nor target platforms, although we believe PC version is very likely. Find out the most current information on the dev’s blog or check out the game’s official website.
