Hit the road and survive in Overland, a post-apocalyptic strategy available in First Access today
Overland is another take on the survival genre with turn-based strategy mechanics. The game is launching in First Access today, so everyone who's interested can buy and play its current alpha build.
The world as we know it is gone. North America has plunged into chaos and is swarmed with deadly monsters. In order to survive you have to journey across the country in a car, take on survivors and gather resources. Tough choices, stressful situations, and close calls are just about everywhere. This is, in short, the setting of Overland, a squad-based strategy game with procedurally generated levels by indie studio Finji. Watch the gameplay trailer below to get the gist of the game.
So far the game access has been limited to those who bought alpha keys. Now, the game’s public First Access is going live in just a couple of hours and will be available exclusively on Itch.io Refinery (no Steam Early Access – the reason for that was explained in the official FAQ). Rest assured, though – upon the full release Overland will also hit Steam. Together with the launch of public First Access, Overland will also get an update that is going to add Twitch Chat API, backpacks for dogs, item trading, and overhauled user interface.
