It Takes Two Hot on A Way Out's Heels With 1 Million Copies Sold

A surprising sales result of It Takes Two. The work of Josef Fares and Hazelight sold 1 million copiers in less than a month from launch, At this rate, the game will easily beat the result of A Way Out.

Released in 2018, A Way Out was a unique piece of work. Josef Fares' team created a title that could only be played with another player, and while some (fans of single-player titles, for example) may have seen this as a sort of "limitation, the game achieved considerable success and after more than a year from its release we informed about two million copies sold. Hazelight's latest game, It Takes Two, was meant to be an even more purely co-op experience than its predecessor, and as you could see from the reviews, it succeeded. Seeing this, it's no surprise that the sales went through the roof right from the start, and less than a month after its release, Fares and his company boasted that the game's sales had reached over a million copies.

The information was provided by the devs via their official Twitter profile:

The post was also commented by Josef Fares, who said that there are certainly gamers willing to play a title only for two people and that he himself would like to see more such works on the video game market. It is also known that he will not rest on his laurels and in the future Hazelight will deliver more representatives of the genre, which began A Way Out.

It is also interesting how quickly It Takes Two catches up with its predecessor in terms of the number of copies sold. After all, a million copies in less than a month is pretty impressive for such game, especially since its predecessor took a few more months to reach the same threshold. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for It Takes Two, pardon the pun, to reach the next milestone and beat A Way Out.
