Jagged Alliance 3 - Jackhammer Choices and Fight

Jagged Alliance 3 Jackhammer – Good Place general tips

1. First of all, make Port Cacao loyal. It will allow you to ask Emma Lafontaine for information about the Good Place. She will tell you about an easy entrance.
2. Before you start the mission, make sure that you have enough tools to open doors, either lockpicks or crowbars, as there will be a lot of things to breach, also take something to cut the fence. What is more, during conversation with Jackhammer you will have to pass 2 checks – Wisdom and Leadership (to unlock all dialog options), so take mercs with these skills as well. You should also pick some snipers. They will be extremally useful, as some enemies are high.
3. Now you can go to the prison.

1. Don’t begin a fight on the ground level. Go below, an easy entrance is near your starting area. Just watch out, there are mines in front of the door.
2. There are a few guards below. Your starting position is quite good to control hostiles. So, you may wait for enemies to attack. Most of them will come looking for you – they will be easy targets.
3. You can release some prisoners. Doing so will grant or reduce loyalty of some places. Obviously, if you let go a criminal, you will lose popularity, if an innocent person, you will gain it. You can recognize them by their comments. If someone acts crazy or has a shady excuse, they should stay in prison. If they speak about vision or debts, they are good to go. There is a glitch which makes some of prisoners stay in the prison even after releasing them. To fix that, change location and enter it once again (it should trigger proper responses). Released prisoners will join you in the upcoming fight upstairs.

5. Now, you may go upstairs again.

Jagged Alliance 3 Jackhammer – fight tips

Jackhammer is hiding in the main building. It will give you a good opportunity to eliminate his minions. He is reluctant to attack you and will wait (at least he did so in our both fights). You can use it to kill his minions first.

You may try a stealth approach, as many soldiers are far away from each other. In this case, it is a good idea to start from guards on the roofs. As they have an eye on the surrounding area, and they will be difficult enemies in the case of open fight.

One enemy sniper is in the north, on the ruined building. Watch out for him, as he has a good position, and it is not so easy to hit him.

There are enemies in both closed wings. Some of them may not be triggered to attack you once the fight start. So, if you can’t see more enemies, search these places (you may not see those opponents just walking around).

Jackhammer itself is a tough enemy, as he has a good shotgun and a lot of health. What is more, he is in a very small space, which makes him even deadlier. However, his reluctance to attack you is his weakness. You may find the boss in his room or near the stairs behind it.

Group your mercs in the room next to his location and turn on overwatch on the entrance. At the same time order one of your people to throw a bomb at Jackhammer and retreat. At some point he will run to you, and trigger attacks of your soldiers. It should kill him.

JA3 – Jackhammer choices

After defeating all opponents and reducing Jackhammer’s HP enough, he will surrender. Talk with him about everything, starting from the left side of the dialog wheel. During conversation you will be able to pass 2 checks – Wisdom and Leadership. If you do so, you will be able to unlock 3rd hidden decision – you will go to prison. What is more, if you fail them, killing Jackhammer will have negative influence on morale. If you pass them, it will be a neutral option. Passing those checks also influences loyalty gain (you will get more).

1. Time to die – you will get Kevlar Leggings, AA12 shotgun (6AP, 3x26 DMG, 8 Range, 5% Crit), 10 Loyalty gain with Port Cacao.
2. You will go to prison – morale of mercs will grow, you will get AA12 shotgun (directly to your equipment), 5 Loyalty gain with Port Cacao.
3. Let him go – your mercs will lose morale, you will lose 10 loyalty with Port Cacao. After a short while, Jackhammer will appear again in the jail and attack it, if he succeeds, he will go to Port Cacao next. You may loot his body and take a shotgun. // In the case of not passing checks, you will be ale to threaten him and get $10 000 for releasing him, this option is not available if you have learnt the truth.
