We have lived to see the release of Lords of the Fallen, one of the most anticipated soulslike games of the year.
The Lords of the Fallen, a soulslike action RPG and a reboot of a 2014 game has debuted on the market. The project was developed by Hexworks, a studio owned by CI Games, with branches in Barcelona (headquarters) and Bucharest.
Expectations for the game were high - the 2014 original was the first successful Dark Souls clone, and the reboot is only the second soulslike game (after Remnant 2) to be powered by Unreal Engine 5. There are enough reviews available on the web that one may be tempted to answer the question of whether the game meets the hopes placed in it.
Lords of the Fallen has an average rating of 75% on OpenCritic. This is a good score and higher than the one achieved by the original from 2014, but this game is far from the title of the best soulslike of the year. Better reviews were collected by Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty (81%), Lies of P (82%) or the aforementioned Remnant II (also 82%).
Finally, it is worth quoting the system requirements of the PC version of the game.
