Announced new features are heading to Manor Lords, including new units and a change of engine to Unreal Engine 5.
Slavic Magic Studio summarized the new features coming to Manor Lords. The new post on Steam provides a glimpse of what the new version of the Polish medieval ruler strategy will offer.
If you have been following Grzegorz Styczen's activity on X, you will probably not be surprised, as this post is largely a summary of the information so far. As promised by the developer, the next update will add fish ponds and new units: crossbowmen. We have already been able to witness the latter in motion through the animation teasers that were shared last week.
The developer also mentioned that when adding the first of these new features, he also experimented with the water-freezing mechanics.
An important novelty will also be the switch to Unreal Engine 5 technology. The Pole assured that he is very careful in using the latest generation engine option from Epic Games (which is equally famous for its beautiful visual setting, as for optimization problems). Nonetheless, this improvement should, on one hand, introduce many improvements, and on the other hand, help developers in the game's development.
Additionally, new ruler portraits and the ability to preview trade in the entire region are coming to Manor Lords, along with further bug fixes. All this, as previously announced by the dev, will reach ML in the next few weeks.
