Wuchang Fallen Feathers, even though it didn't have the best launch due to some technical issues, still gathers of people eager to play it. And for good reasons. Despite some problems, the game has a lot of interesting mechanics to offer. One of them is Madness, which is considered a high-risk, high-reward option. Do you want to know what it really offers, how to gain this state, or how to remove it? You'll find out in our guide.

How Madness works in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

Madness is a state that is like a double-edged sword – it has its pros and cons. The higher it gets, the more damage you inflict on your opponents. The problem is that they will also inflict higher damage on you. What's more, when this state reaches 100%, there is a high chance of encountering Inner Demon, an opponent similar to Wuchang, who attacks everything in sight. If you die when Inner Demon appears and your Madness is full, you will lose all your Red Mercury Essence.

Wuchang can gain Madness in 3 ways:

  1. By purchasing items from the Invoke menu – you will unlock this option fairly soon into the game. While resting at the shrine, you can purchase various items to increase your Madness level.
  2. By killing human opponents – you will encounter many human-type opponents in the game, usually in the form of bandits. Although they are a threat to you, killing them will increase your Madness level.
  3. By dying – each death also increases Madness.

It is worth noting that many abilities in the skill tree offer significant buffs if your Madness level is above 50% or 90%. It is worth taking advantage of this.

How to cleanse Madness in Wuchang Fallen Feathers

If you don't necessarily want to deal and receive more damage, there are also several ways to get rid of this condition.

  1. Offerings – there is a sculpture on the upper floor of Lightzen Temple (you can see it on the picture above). By interacting with it, you can offer a Divine Gift to get rid of all Madness, or a Fragment of the Divine Gift to get rid of a certain part of it.
  2. Defeating Inner Demon – defeating this opponent when your Madness is at 100% will reduce this condition to 0.
  3. Defeating Feathered Enemies – clearing the location of enemies affected by this disease will cause your Madness to slowly decrease.
