Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries Infiltration Guide

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries recently received the DLC titled Rise of Rasalhague. In this guide, you will learn something about the Infiltration Missions introduced by this expansion.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is an action-packed game in which we control mechs, perform various tasks and, of course, fight enemies. The recently released Rise of Rasalhague DLC introduced quite a few novelties to the game, and one of them is the possibility to take part in Infiltration Missions. In this guide you will learn how they should be performed..

Infiltration Missions in MechWarrior 5

Infiltration Missions focus on conducting reconnaissance and completing a main objective. In addition to this, we also have secondary objectives, and the entire mission is best completed without being detected by enemy mechs, as this will give you a bonus to the task reward..

For Infiltration Missions it is best to use light or medium mechs, as these are the most difficult to detect.. Do not fire and it's a good idea to tell your units to hold their fire right away (on the PC, the F1 command is responsible for this, followed by F4). If we do fire and hit an enemy, by accident or intentionally, we will have only a minute to get rid of them before they raise the general alarm. If we succeed, we can continue the mission trying not to be detected. However, if the general alarm is activated, we will have to fight all the enemies and will not get the bonus for completing the task silently. You can see an example of Infiltration Mission here.

Infiltration Missions in MechWarrior - tips

  1. Play an Infiltration Mission using a light or medium mech.
  2. Equip it with a high damage arsenal, as this will make it easier to defeat enemies before they raise the alarm.
  3. Don't shoot unnecessarily and order your lancemates to hold fire.
  4. Take your time and discern your position. Then you will more effectively plan how to move around the area with less risk of being spotted.
