Minecraft 1.20 Launches - Impresisve Number of New Features in Trails and Tales

Patch 1.20 for Minecraft will be available for free download today. The update will introduce a large number of changes and new features, including a new cherry biome. We explain how to download Trails & Tales when it becomes available.

After months of leaks and announcements, it is finally here - today Minecraft will receive update 1.20. The patch titled Trails & Tales introduces a multitude of changes and new features that should appeal to all fans of the game.

Minecraft 1.20 - essential info

The Trails & Tales update was identified with big news, expected for a long time already from the first announcements in October 2022. Here's what patch 1.20 will mainly introduce:

  1. a new "cherry blossom" biome - an area covered with cherry blossom trees, which diversifies the game with a location with a new design and pink items (possible to be made from cherry wood);
  2. archeology - a new element that - in addition to new items such as a brush - provides, among other things, the opportunity to discover a Sniffer egg, a passive mob capable of searching for plant seeds;
  3. camels - desert-dwelling creatures that - with the help of a saddle - can be ridden by two players;
  4. smaller novelties and changes - we're talking about the ability to decorate armor, new items made of bamboo or blocks of bookshelves, as well as numerous fixes.

The full list of changes is huge. If you are curious about the new features coming to Minecraft, you can get acquainted with them on the official website.

How to download the Trails & Tales update?

Trails & Tales update 1.20 will be available as a free download for all owners of Minecraft. The debut time is unknown, but - given the releases of previous updates (1.18 and 1.19), it is expected that patch 1.20 will be made available between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. CET.

It will require a download of about 40 MB of data, which may take up more disk space after unpacking. The process of installing the patch will vary depending on the version of the game you have:

  1. in the official launcher it runs on its own - the program will automatically start installing the patch after launching;
  2. in the Microsoft store, hover over the game and click the "download update" option;
  3. in the Xbox / PC Game Pass app, find the game and then select the "manage updates" option;
  4. in the mobile version and on consoles, the installation of the patch will run automatically (alternatively, you need to manually find the game from the list of installed apps and select the update option).

Minecraft hit the market in 2011, but made its beta debut in 2009, meaning it has been in development for more than 14 years. The developers, in addition to numbered patches, plan to enhance the game with DLCs containing a 10-hour Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Gamers are also adding their two cents - creating, for example, spectacular creations such as Minecraft in Minecraft or reflection of the entire universe.
