The Minecraft movie continues to complete its cast. The upcoming adaptation of the game will most likely feature an actor who is known for his comedy series about vampires.
Plans to create a live-action film based on Minecraft were announced almost a decade ago. Since then, the project has gone through countless changes, which included director issues. Over time, however, the future of the highly anticipated film became clearer, and we began to get to know the cast of the adaptation, ultimately helmed not by Shawn Levy, but Jared Hess.
According to information by Deadline, Matt Berry is currently negotiating a role in an upcoming film. The actor will star in Minecraft alongside Jason Momoa. For now, details of the adaptation are being kept under wraps, so we don't yet know any details about Berry's role.

Matt Berry is best known for his BAFTA and Critics' Choice Award-nominated role as a vampire named Laszlo in What We Do in the Shadows. The production depicts the daily, or rather nightly, lives of three vampires living together for hundreds of years on New York's Staten Island. Berry also appeared in The Book of Boba Fett, Disenchantment and The IT Crowd.
It is worth adding that it is not clear how Minecraft will be translated to the screen. Since there is no single overarching story in the game itself, it's hard to guess what the developers are planning. Either way, it would be interesting to see a screen interpretation of creepers or endermen.
Minecraft movie is scheduled to hit theaters in April 2025.
