New Actors Cast for Netflix's The Witcher, Including Role of King Henselt

We to to know more of the actors who will be appearing in the second season of Netflix's The Witcher - including a the actor playing King Henselt, aka the ruler of Keadwen.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Edward Rowe will play King Henselt in the second season of The Witcher;
  2. In addition, two other actors - Ed Birch and Julie Barclay - will join the cast.

Very ambitious are the plans of The Witcher creators when it comes to expanding the universe in the second season. Recent months have brought us quite a lot of information about it, including new names joining the cast. In early December, we wrote about five new actors - including a potential actor to play Sigismund Dijkstra. Now we got to knowmore people who will join the crew led by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (via Redanian Intelligence).

The most important casting choice from those not yet known to you is probably Edward Rowe. His only major role so far is in an independent British drama called The Lure, which has been well received by critics. The actor's extraordinary talent will be used in a very interesting way in The Witcher , because Rowe will play the a rude, racist and thoroughbred monarch - King Henselt. All fans of Sapkowski's books and players who have completed The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings may know him.

Rowe (in the picture) definitely fits the role of the resolute ruler.

We also learned two other names involved in the series, Ed Birch and Julie Barclay, but we don't know who they are supposed to play. Their filmography does not impress - they are actors with careers heavily based on television and TV series. Birch had a chance to play minor roles in Sherlock or The Alienist, but he rather sticks to a certain niche. Barclay, on the other hand, made a guest appearance in a crime drama Broadchurch.

As you may remember, The Witcher returned to the set less than a week ago after the Holiday break. We don't know when to expect the premiere of season two, because it's hard to predict it due to dynamic coronavirus pandemic situaction. It was initially rumored to premiere in the second half of 2021, but we don't expect the creators to be so quick with production and editing.
