Today, Bethesda finally shared confirmation of the existence of an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake. In a post on social media, the legendary game studio shared an image with a roman numeral four front and center, teasing a livestream set for tomorrow, April 22nd, at 8:00 AM Pacific Time. When you click on the livestream page on YouTube, the title simply reads: “All will be revealed…” Now it’s just a matter of time for fans to learn what the plans are for this highly anticipated remake.

Oblivion livestream officially announced for tomorrow, claiming “All will be revealed…”

Leaks and rumors about this Oblivion remake have been dominating people’s attention spans the last few weeks. Recent leaked information showed screenshots comparing the original with a new remade version, and the rumor was that the game was near completion and prepared to be released sooner than expected. The week of April 21st was the rumored timeframe for a shadow drop of the Oblivion remake, a shadow drop meaning that the remake would be released the same day it was announced. So that’s the big question for tomorrow’s livestream. Will this stream simply announce a release date, give a “coming soon” tag at the end of the trailer, or will tomorrow be the day that everyone has access to the new Oblivion.

With all the rumors and leaks recently, it’s possible that tomorrow’s presentation is just an opportunity for Bethesda to start controlling the narrative. Back in January, while Nintendo Switch 2 rumors and leaks were spreading like wildfire, Nintendo finally decided to post a video about their new console. On some level, partly just because of how brief that initial trailer was, it had to be a “fine, here you go,” more than something that was planned from the beginning. Tomorrow’s livestream has so many varied expectations, but there are certainly large groups of fans that will be upset if they aren’t able to play the remake by the end of the day.

If some rumors are to be believed, this should be a major overhaul of the original RPG from 2006. In some images that may have leaked, the fantasy world’s landscapes and characters have been brought to more modern graphical standards. Reportedly the remake is going to change the combat system, possibly inspired by many recent action RPGs.

Ultimately, we will have to wait until tomorrow to see what Bethesda has planned. You can tune into Bethesda’s YouTube and Twitch channels to watch the presentation, which is scheduled for April 22nd, 2025, at 8:00 AM. With Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Bethesda, it will be interesting to see what platforms this remake releases on.
