Old World From Civilization 4 Designer Launches on Steam Today

Today Old World, a strategy game from Mohawk Games, ceases to be an Epic Games Store exclusive.

1. Old World makes its debut on Steam today. At the same time, the game will become available on GOG.com.
2. The game will be unlocked at midnight on both platforms.
3. Today also sees the release of the first expansion, entitled Old World: Heroes of the Aegean. The DLC will be available on Steam, GOG.com and Epic Games Store.
4. Every owner of the basic version of the game will be able to receive Heroes of the Aegean for free for the first two weeks after the release. After that, the DLC will become a paid product.

Until now the game was an Epic Games Store exclusive. It was released there in early access in May 2020, and the release of version 1.0 took place on July 1, 2021.

The game was developed as a rival to the Ciwilization series. Normally, we would consider such a goal as biting more than one can chew, but in this case the development team had the competence to take on the challenge. The main designer of Old World is Soren Johnson, who previously performed the same function in Sid Meier's Civilization IV.

The game has met with a warm reception. On Metacritic Old World can boast an average rating of 80%..
