Oldest Steam Account is Now 19 Years Old

A new badge has appeared on Steam. It was given to the oldest, or 19-year-old accounts, which mostly belong to Valve employees.

Steam celebrates its 19th birthday today, which means nothing less than a new badge for the oldest accounts on the platform. The award for 19 years of service was given to the oldest account created, although there are many more such veterans on Steam.

The oldest account on Steam

Such a title can boast user rich. Although such accounts also appear in the rankings, such as Abacus Avenger, EJ, or h, it is rich who has the one with the Account ID numbered 1. However, it does not appear that the owner is actively using it. After all, Rich only has three friends, and one of them is his other account, which is a year younger.

Several other equally old accounts

Following the Account ID trail, the second oldest account on Steam belongs to alfred, and the TOP 3 is closed by the aforementioned EJ. In addition to the badge for 19 years of service, what these profiles have in common is that they also belong to Valve employees.

Of course, there are many more people who created accounts in 2003. If you are wondering whether Valve's founder has an account on Steam, the answer is - most likely yes.. It is Rabscuttle, as indicated by his inventory on the platform.

The account owns Vintage Banhammer. As a joke, Gabe Newell was supposed to use it to ban players who discovered his backpack in Team Fortress 2.

How many accounts were created in 2003?

The only clue on the subject of the number of created accounts is a file on GitHub, according to which on September 1, 2003 already 430,159 people had an account on Steam. The data on SteamDB goes back as far as April 2005, when there were about 94,000 concurrent users on Valve's platform.

If you would like to check the stats associated with your account, the reliable SteamDB will help. At this address, by pasting a link to your profile or its SteamID, you can check information such as average gameplay time or the valuation of your profile.
