Attempts to make a movie based on Metal Gear Solid have been made for over 14 years. So far we have not heard anything solid (sorry...) about the production. In 2017 we only found out that two versions of the script are being considered. Today, we learned the name of the actor to play the role of Solid Snake (via Deadline). The character is to be depicted by Oscar Isaac, known for the latest Star Wars trilogy. This move, however, has some consequences. Due to the actor's busy schedule, the start date of the shooting is still unknown.
It's worth mentioning that the director of the planned movie adaptation is Jordan Vogt-Roberts. Derek Connolly is responsible for the script. The whole thing is produced for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
The first Metal Gear Solid was released in 1998 on PS1. The father of the series, to which the game belongs, is Hideo Kojima. Konami was responsible for publishing the title.
