Paradox's grand strategy game expands to exotic new regions. CK3 chapter 4 introduces more than China

At the beginning of the week, Crusader Kings III fans speculated that the 4th strategy chapter would be set in China, and today the developers confirmed it. Paradox Studio has released an official trailer for the expansion, as well as several-minute-long material discussing it.

Mongolian steppes in Crusader Kings 3

In Chapter 4, we will access China, Japan, and Korea, but its "core" will be Mongolia and the character of Genghis Khan (the eastern territory of Asia hasn't yet appeared in the series). The Crusader Kings III: Khans of the Steppe package will be released on April 28, 2025.

1. We will guide the nomadic people on the Asian steppes. This means that our community will travel when living conditions worsen. For instance - if the temperature drops, cultivation will become more difficult. As a result, our people will seek warmer regions.
2. The key system is supposed to be the Nomadic Government. Thanks to it, we will be able to manage the migration of people and herds of animals, while also taking care of their endurance.
3. Our strength and dominance will also become important. We will increase it by gaining more and more areas of land on the continent. If domination reaches the highest level, players will receive a cloak of Genghis Khan himself called "Universal Ruler."
4. Besides, the expansion will bring us closer to the traditions and culture of Mongolia.

What else in Chapter 4?

Fans of Crusader Kings III will get a new activity - coronations, after the release of Khans of the Steppe. As part of this, we will organize the entire ceremony to persuade the vassals, Church representatives, and subjects that God has entrusted us with the authority to rule. This option will appear as part of a small, paid DLC.

As part of the chapter, a second "large" expansion, All Under Heaven, will be added alongside Khans of the Steppe. It's intended to be the "largest and most ambitious" DLC in the series' history. It will bring all of Asia into the game (including China, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia) with new gameplay or distinctive governments.

A new title will appear in All Under Heaven: hegemon. Moreover, our dynasty will constantly compete with other families to prove that it deserves power. The devs will also allow us to manage the finances of the entire empire - we will decide for ourselves in which regions we will invest. The release date of this expansion hasn't been announced yet.

Update 1.15 details

In the statement published by Paradox, there were also details of a small patch for the third installment of the strategy. The interface for court management has been improved, and the enhanced AI can automatically direct military actions.
