Platige Image Will Prepare Effects for The Witcher Season 2
Polish studio Platige Image will once again have the opportunity to work on The Witcher from Netflix. After good results of working on special effects for the first season, Tomasz Baginski's team will also prepare them for the second season.
The first season of the Witcher from Netflix debuted on December 10, 2019 and was one of the most famous premieres on the platform. Special effects were produced by the Polish studio Platige Image, specializing in 3D animation and post-production. The group signed an agreement with Netflix for visual effects for the second season of the show.
Platige Image is a studio that can boast over 200 awards and distinctions, including Golden Palm and Golden Lion nominations. The effects of their work can be seen in numerous advertisements, as well as in the episode Fish Night from the Love, Death & Robots anthology. In an interview (in Polish only) for Money.pl Karol Zbikowski said that The Witcher was a very important project for the team, thanks to which they became Netflix's official supplier. He also mentioned that the project is a business card in talks with other customers.
Already in the case of the first season the studio did not only deal only with special effects - Tomasz Baginski and Jaroslaw Sawka represented Platige Image as executive producers of the series. At that time, working for the company brought the studio income of around 1.5 million dollars. This time the group is to be paid almost $1.7 million.
Although the studio's work has been awarded many times, the financial results were not impressive. The work on the first season of The Witcher changed the fate of the company for the better. The special effects in the latest adaptation of Sapkowski's novels were really impressive, and everything indicates that in the second season we can expect similar results from the Polish group.
